Carts of America started as a sideline business in 1976.  The fast and friendly services they provided to grocers quickly became popular.  They were incorporated as Hays Enterprises, Inc. in the State of Ohio in 1980.  Hays Enterprises, Inc initially started as a shopping cart repair service and has grown to be a full maintenance company serving grocery, home center, office supply, and a variety of specialty retail and non retail customers.

 

Our corporate headquarters is located in Lordstown, Ohio.  Strategically located, we are just one hour from both Cleveland and Pittsburgh, PA, halfway between New York City and Chicago and within 500 miles of 50% of the US population.  Excellent highway access makes travel to customer's locations an important benefit.  In 1995, we moved into our current25,500 square foot facility.

 

Our work is performed at the customer's location using mobile service units.  Each unit is equipped with welders and tools needed to repair carts, ladders, racks, rolling stock, and a variety of miscellaneous equipment.  Our Poly Table Top division's mobile service unit is equipped with industrial equipment specially designed to resurface the plastic.  We currently have 35 employees established in Indianapolis (IN), Roanoke, Virginia Beach, Richmond, and Westchester (VA), Toledo, (OH) and our home location in Lordstown.

 

As we expand, we are also beginning to organize a division to serve as an authorized Briggs and Stratton, Kohler, and Tecumseh Engines sales, service, and warranty location.
